I no longer feel the need to educate people about inequality or my oppression. Im just not, at this point, convinced of the benefits of holding someones hand through my lived experience. This does not mean that Im no longer going to have tough conversations, but it does mean that Im going to be cashing out much earlier. And that Im going to be much more selective about who I choose to engage with. I will approach interactions with someone that I have an intimate relationship with differently than those with someone I dont know. Relationship, rapport, and, quite frankly, privilege all matter here. Often on the internet, these are not productive debates. They are an interminable back and forth and that is a waste of time and energy.
