I normally dont do these things and scoff at the people who do them. But because its about books and literature, Ill have to cave this once. Thanks for tagging me Toni Smith Bergman. Im supposed to list 10 books that have stuck with me over the years (not necessarily my favorites) 1) Carry On, Mr. Bowditch- Jean Lee Latham (mathematics meets ocean travel meets heart-wrenching love story) 2) The Crystal Cave- Mary Stewart (my uncle James recommended the whole series. One of my favorite Merlin stories) 3) The Essential Rumi- Rumi & Coleman Barks (my copy of this book is falling apart) 4) Ulysses- James Joyce (2.5 years after starting Ulysses, Im half-way done) 5) Othello- William Shakespeare (Iago is my favorite villain of all time) 6) Till We Have Faces- C. S. Lewis (plot twist to end all plot twists) 7) The Kalevala- Various/Elias Lönnrot (weep your eyes out) 8) A Walk to Remember- Nicolas Sparks (like I said above, not a favorite, but it shows me that movies CAN be far better than the book) 9) Thus Spoke Zarathustra- Friedrich Nietzsche (you can see modern popular culture dripping from these words) 10) The Glass Menagerie- Tennessee Williams (cold-hearted, straight, no chaser apathy) Im not tagging anyone because thats not my thing.
