I normally dont like to post personal things about my health, but - TopicsExpress

I normally dont like to post personal things about my health, but I think I have to make an exception for this one instance. I have felt terrible since early June. Run down, exhausted, lacking the energy to do anything. Getting up out of bed was an incredible effort. I wrote it off to the fact that I wasnt sleeping well through the night. Starting in June, I began having to go pee roughly fifteen times a day (every 45 minutes or so at night). I couldnt keep liquids in my body, so I was constantly drinking water. Im even ashamed to say that incontinence become prevalent. I tolerated it for 90 days, feeling terrible, marathon ing to the bathroom all of the time until I remembered something my incredibly wise father taught me: butch... your body is only going to send you so many messages before it kicks you in your ass. So, I finally went to see my doctor. He listened to my pee story, my feeling crappy story and looked at my 30# weight loss in 6 months (time since my last visit to him) and said you have diabetes. My fasting (I had no food for over 20 hours knowing he likes to do lipid panels with me) blood sugar... Just under 400 (80 - 120 is normal). Ive been getting help now for three weeks and today is the first day in over 120 days where I had enough energy to mow my lawn! It is the first day Ive felt well! Why am I telling the social world this? Dont ignore your bodys screaming hints like an obstinate Dingman. Dont think that by not going to the doctor youre tougher than if you did. If you are experiencing what I was, get checked out! Im lucky I did and wish I did so earlier so I would have felt better sooner.
