I notice the comment above by Dr. Sylvia Blyden as regards Kanthe - TopicsExpress

I notice the comment above by Dr. Sylvia Blyden as regards Kanthe Knana (a.k.a. Ibrahim Kamara). About three months ago, Ibrahim Kamara informed me of his intention to lobby charitable organizations in Canada, and the government of Canada,, to secure materials for our Ebola War in Sierra Leone. I encouraged him to do so. To my knowledge, most of the letters that Kanthe Knana would write to charitable organizations in Canada he would copy me, and other senior officials in State House. On securing the materials, Kanthe Knana wrote to inform me that he was stuck - as he needed the shippers to be paid, and he has not gotten that from the charity groups that had donated the anti-Ebola materials. I advised him to make contact with Yayah Conteh in the health ministry who was in charge of that. He has done that. It took about a month before Yaya Conteh would respond to his almost a half a dozen mails on the issue. As regards the issue of Kanthe Knana asking the Government of Sierra Leone to pay shippers $5,500 to get to Sierra Leone a container with $55,000 worth of anti-Ebola materials, it does make business sense, right? And, it does make EMERGENCY SENSE - we need the materials desperately; the value of those $55,000 can be said to be ten times higher given it is a life and death issue as regards the Ebola War in Sierra Leone!!! Considering Dr. Sylvia Blydens apparently derisive comments on Kanthe Knana as being pig in the poke I can only state that Sierra Leone has two accredited envoys in the US who could easily would be asked by the health ministry here to ensure that indeed Kanthe Kana has several pigs in his bag!!! On the innuendo on Kanthe Kanas character there,, let me tell the world the bit I know of Kanthe Kana, including what I have posted as he being one of the founding members of Youth Arise!!! About 2000 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, there were very few APC partisans who were passionate about the APC; very few who would even wear red shirts or identify themselves as APC; most were either in exile, or, if in Freetown, were simply underground about the APC. In 2002, Tejan Kabbahs SLPP won an unprecedented 72% of votes cast in the presidential elections - beating the APC in several districts in their traditional strongholds in the Northern Province; and beating the APC in their big stronghold of Freetown. Most APC felt the APC was either dead...or, would need major surgery to be revived. From the time I knew Kanthe Kana in the year 2000, he would be a passionate and unrelenting APC!!! He was among those who would regularly visit me at my office on the 8th floor of the NIC building on Walpole Street (where I was Communications Officer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone), and would visit at my residence on Fort Street almost daily, and he would be unflinching in his prophetic pronouncement: THE APC WILL COME BACK TO POWER SOON. To my knowledge, he was one of those who helped to revive the APC branch in Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone - kindling hope in a political party that had lost an election by a landslide. Unlike too many of those self-proclaimed genetic APC who are APC only when the APC was in power, or, when the APC returned to power in 2007; or, those APC-by-pedigree who were vociferous supporters of the SLPP just yesterday but now are red-hot APC partisans, Kanthe Kana (a.k.a. Ibrahim Kamara; also Pashalik) has vastly disproportionate moral authority as an APC partisan - because he was APC when the going was rough, and has remained APC today. Dr. Sylvia Blyden: I do PLEAD with you to try to do background check on people you may not know about before you try to use innuendo against them.
