I often get asked if animals like reiki. My answer is every animal is unique. My last dog would not accept it from me until she was 8 years old. What had changed then? I had become a reiki Master. so maybe I was beneath her before that lol. I was glad that she accepted it then as when she had a serious health issue with her cruciate ligament and collapsed twice, the only thing that stopped her shaking was being given reiki. More recently when my level 2 students have been sending reiki on a couple of occasions animals have been involved. One had a purring guinea on her knee while receiving the energy, another persons dog immediately got down from her side. My current dogs are allowing me to give reiki just for a couple on minutes but it is a start. You can see that it can depend on the animal or the timing whether they accept it or not but its a great gift to have when you can use it to help them as well as yourself and others.
