I often hear people proclaim that they are blessed and favored by God because they didnt pay anything for what they received. OK, I hear that but as a prophet let me offer this (yes, I am the one to always mess up your ideology of God) --II Samuel 24:20-24 (you read it) but David went to BUY the threshing floor to build an altar to save the people...if I were preaching this, Id say it again to make sure you heard that part...Araunah tried his best to GIVE his king the floor along with all the things necessary to please God. Sounds good right? Ooooo God is favoring me! No! Wait. David declined the offer and said - I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So he paid - 50 shekels of silver - man I could preach that revelation all night but I will wait until I see you in person! After that, God stopped the plague on Israel...HE CHANGED HIS MIND! My point: before you take things from people that you intend on using for Gods glory and to serve His people consider the angle of the other party and be sure God gets all the glory! You see if Araunah had received nothing, he couldve taken credit and glory from God and shared the glory as partaker but no God always pays just to be sure everyone knows whos in charge. God is not broke and neither are His servants. Learn to invest in Gods principles and do things His way in order to prosper and effect the nation! The world already thinks we want everything for free as it is. Show them Gods glory. (I must say that 50 shekels of Silver is truly messing with me tonight but I will leave it alone)
