I once used to work somewhere where up selling was king. We had mystery shoppers checking that at every opportunity, we were sucking as much money off of people as possible. At Sensory Space, once you pay to get in, everything else is free. Signing, singing and activities. Today we are decorating Wedgwood plates with ceramic markers. We do sell some second hand bits and new pocket money toys and books. But, you are welcome to bring in your own food and drink or even pop up to the sandwich shop further up. We are the only dedicated sensory play space in Bristol for all children. It may be easily replicated, but wont come with all the parenting, music, culture and art expertise behind it. Our influences come from a wide range of places. It could be the opera currently playing in the city, the latest episode of Something Special, or a paragraph read about sensory processing disorder. We can also offer advice, peer support and sign posting to other services for parents.
