I only caught a few moments of the MTV VMAs but in that few moments everything I ever admired about music and musicians was really challenged. What has become of the conscience of our musical artists. Growing up I wanted to become a musician because my fav artists and musicians had a style of presentation and performance that was classy and iconic. Statements of the social and political were made and I felt that these musicians and artist understood the plight of the regular people who struggle with work, relationships, and emotions. Last night I just saw perversion misogyny and lack of talent that required shock and awe to appear to be entertainment. I almost feel like I shoulda admired carpenters when I was a kid. I really hope there are no kids looking up to these foolish so called artists.
