Art has taught me so much about life and people. I feel so blessed that I got into art. I feel it has relaxed me. Painting gives me a boldness I don’t have in front of a camera. Art gives me an eloquence I don’t have speaking. It’s like Grace. My greatest inspiration is my husband and partner Jason Linkous. He completely supports my career and cheers on all my dreams. I feel that as an artist I’m actually part of the current art movement. Art is so alive you can feel the community, the movement and when you do, you know you are part of it. I am grateful to and respect all the artists I’ve met along the journey. I appreciate the words of wisdom and warnings, encouragement and congratulations from my artist friends -Robert Christian Malmberg, David Lebatard, Eric Zener Studio, and Wulf Treu. My influences include Vincent Van Gogh and Andy Warhol, but just as influential are these contemporary artists I’ve met. I think about people who have influenced me in my work and career and I think of DK Johnston now curating the Quin in New York who believed in me from the beginning and taught me so much. I want to pass along this goodness.
