I originally posted this on the NFFL message board and a couple people suggested I post it here so that it could get more exposure and try to get info out to those affected in the NFFL. There have been concerns by many people regarding the way the league is being ran...... For those who dont know me, I am one of the owners of the Buckeyes. I respect all the teams in the Northern Frontier Football league bc after all, its the teams that make this league! Since this league is where the Buckeyes started, I obviously dont want to see it struggling like the way it is all bc of one persons power trip! I gave some advice last year and I am going to try giving it again. I definitely dont know it all, nor do I claim to, but here it goes...... This league was formed as a nonprofit organization and was incorporated as such. It is still on file with the state of Ohio as an ACTIVE non profit organization. You can go to the Ohio Secretary of State to see this. When a non profit organization is created, there are article of incorporation that are required to be filed. In those articles is verbiage that pertains to the dissolution of the organization and all assets are to be disbursed to debt and to other nonprofit organizations. This league is still registered with Ohio and has not been dissolved. BJ claims to be the owner.....not possible!!!!! He would have to create a new entity that follows those such guidelines. So what that means to you guys (teams in the NFFL)..... You could always file a complaint with the state of Ohio and get him to hand over the organizations documents (EIN mainly) but that still isnt going to get you the cash thats in his pocket that belongs to the organization. My opinion is that you can vote his ass out and start a new bank account but you need the EIN for that. If you cant get what you need from him then you can save all that headache and create a new league and have all the NFFL teams join it and that will leave the NFFL empty. At the end of the day all you guys want to do is play in a league that is ran well and you dont have to worry about not getting questions answered and things done in a timely manner. If the majority is not happy then I would suggest doing something about it!! Best of luck to you all!!
