I personally never considered taking statins or for that matter high blood pressure meds because Id read Nortin Hadlers books that offered comprehensive reasoning and research that made me think that this is just another gigantic trillion dollar scam by drug companies. I still believe that, however I have friends who think its OK just to do what their doctors tell them, and these are intelligent people. I strongly suggest you read the something like 400 comments attached to this article, maybe not all of them, to get the full flavor of the controversy although I made my mind up years ago. Simple logic, for one thing, just open a newspaper any day and read about some drug company scam or some kind of drug company corruption, that will go a long way to not trusting anything they have to sell.
