I personally would like to thank everyone for making powwow 2014 a huge success. Thank you to Chief Misel Joe for always being here with us and for all that you do. A special thank you to Lone Cry Singers, our host drum group for again sharing your talents and the heart beat of mother earth. Thank you to our very talented, free spirited, fun loving head female dancer Robin Benoit. Thank you to Paul Pike, head male dancer, Troy Bennett, arena director, Mike Doucette M.C, Jr. Sheppard for the sound, Strong Womens Drum Group and all the lady drummers, Dan White for the demonstrations on the basket making, thank you to all the dancers, fire keepers, sweat lodge keepers, volunteers, security, vendors, parking volunteers, Flat Bay Band Staff, and to the Flat Bay Band/Chief Liz Lasaga for the great partnership with our Powwow Committee. A huge thank you to elder Calvin White for all the work he has done on the powwow grounds and to the staff working with him under the JCP and the skills link program. Thank you to Lilly Bennett, our summer student who is willing to do anything. Thank you to all who attended, (especially our Veterans), thanks to all who donated food, time, items for the give away... Thanks you to Sylvia Legge and all the people who volunteered in the kitchen and kept so many people fed this weekend:) I am very grateful for the entire weekend and for our people coming together in such an amazing celebrations. Thank you to all our sponsors, Hertitage Canada, Qalipu First Nation, Flat Bay Band, Skinners Pharmacy, Government of NL, Ulnooweg Development Group and Canada Council of the Arts. Last but certainly not least, I also want to thank each and every person who sat on the committee this year, and past years it was an honor to work with all of you.
