I picked up 41: A Portrait of My Father by Bush 43 last week at the airport. It is an announced biased reflection from a son to a father - both of which happen to have been President of the United States. I have always respected 41 and count it as an honor to have met him and shook his hand. Like the two or not, there is something special about the reflection and as 43 puts it, a love letter to my father. It is also a great testament to our society to see the interaction of 41, 43 with Bill Clinton. Clinton gave a bed up for 41 in their travels and 41 and Barbara treat him as if he was a lost son. I suspect that what they have seen, the decisions they have had to make, and the pressures of serving as President is something that cannot be understood until you have been there and it leaves a connection with your colleagues.
