I plan to race my 2014 STINGRAY CORVETTE next Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Wichita International Drag Strip!! It is located at 7900 W 61st N in Maize, KS!! I hope my friends will come out and watch!! I drug it in May and ran 114.2 mph in a quarter mile!! The track was cold and we were all spinning our tires on the line and could not get traction!! The track is warm now and I hope I will improve my time and speed!! I am buying a racing helmet tomorrow which is required over 120 MPH, dont think I will reach this speed, but decided to get one anyway!! A drag racing helmet has fire protection for inside a car, where a motorcycle helmet is designed to protect your head sliding on the asphalt, lol!! The drags go on all day starting maybe at 10 or noon!! It can get somewhat boring waiting on someone you want to see, ha!! Cindy sometimes gets bored and goes home, dont blame her a bit, ha!! Last time I raced in May it was so busy, I only ran through 5 times, would like to have gone 10 LOL!! It was over an hour between times I could get back to the line, it was so crowded!! I had 25 young kids around my new 2014 Stingray Corvette telling me what to do to improve my time!! It was so FUN, Cindy and I just sat in the car while they changed my tire pressures from 34 to 26 and showed me I had my posi-traction off instead of on, ha!! These kids have hopped up cars running in the nines and I am only 13.2, laugh! They will definitely be there again coaching this old man how to do it, ha!! My first run was only 105.3 and after they coached me I went to 114.2, you all know the young people, way ahead of us on electronics and the latest thing!! I have purchased a magnetic holder that I can put my Iphone in and plan to mount it on the dash of this STINGRAY CORVETTE!! Hope to video the run as I go through!! Never know who I will race till I get up to the line and look over to see who I am running against!! Some kids ask to race me, because they all want to show there friends they kicked a new Stingrays ass, LOL!! I will race anyone who challenges me, it is very FUN at my age, ROF and LOL!!
