I played a great game of Dux Britanium yesterday with Rusty and his son Cole. I like the late Roman period anyway, have tons of 28mm Late Romans based for Might of Arms and the rules seemed to work ok. Its definitely not like SAGA and is a bit more cerebral in my humble opinion. I like it also because we can put a campaign together quickly and get stuck in with minimum efforts. I can see kicking the rules mechanism back to the transitional period of Julius Caesar, the conquest of Gaul and Roman expansion in Spain. I can also see how these rules could move into the east with the Byzantines dealing with the Rus and Sassanids. Highly recommended for fun, pretty fast, and small games you would want to get done in several hours in an evening. I can also believe myself (metaphorically of course) to be Powers Boothe as Aetius in that cheezy movie Attila. LOLZ
