I posted the other day about my need and desire to have a ‘bib’, well I ordered one, and it came yesterday. It has terry cloth on one side with a crumb catcher pocket across the bottom, and a vinyl material on the other. The ad stated it would take ‘industrial machine washings’. It measure about 29 inches in length by 17 inches in width. It has two snaps in the back. Later on, I have about 20 tomatoes to process, cutting, saving the juice, and roasting the paste. This is a messy job, but I like it. Will post after I put it through the first washing. No, I have no shame wearing a bib in the kitchen, it beats walking around with various stains from splattered frying oils and butter, splashes from the sink while I am running water, (this lets me stand up against the sink and the ‘bib’ will absorb the spray. Things that spurt, squish, and tomato based sauces that create small explosions while they are cooking on the stove and I am not careful to stir or adjust the heat before the mini volcanos occur, will be caught on the front of my ‘bib’. Beside ‘old’ people can justify a bib if others are not present.
