I posted this as a comment on a sighting, but it needs to be said so everyone can read it. Id like a mandate in the comments section as to how people would like to proceed. Make all the personal attacks you want against me, I could care less about the opinions of people who take to the internet behind a fake Facebook profile to attack other people who take no shame in admitting who they are or what they stand for. Firstly, I dont understand all of the aggression towards Andrew Murphy. Despite the number of people on this group that continually attack him, he remains one of the best contributors to this group. I stopped bothering to share my sightings ages ago because of personal attacks made against me by members, and until those members are removed from the group by the administrators, Im afraid I have no interest in contributing. Secondly, the homophobic, anti-gay comments are not on, no matter who youre directing them at. Its appalling and disgusting, and Id challenge you to go make the same comments in an openly gay location, like a bar or club. I have little doubt a large group of people will quite quickly and physically change your attitude. This group has quickly gone to the dogs, and it is a small minority of members that scare away legitimate contributors. All you seem to do on this group is post stupid pictures and make inane comments about sightings. Ive not seen a single sighting from you, so Id question why you remain in this group at all. People on this group have challenged me as to why I maintain a secret sightings group, and it is to avoid people like this from abusing fellow members and creating a hostile environment for other members. Anyone who condones these personal, homophobic attacks need to take a long hard look at themselves. Ill gladly start a new, public sightings group myself, and invite all of those on this group who wish to share sightings without making personal attacks to join. Those of you who exist only to attack other members would get one warning, and then be permanently removed from the group. The enthusiast community has a hard enough time getting information as it is these days without ugly people making ugly personal attacks at well meaning contributors. Youre a coward, and youre a gutless wonder. Do the community a favour and take up stamp collecting. Im ashamed to be in the same circle as a homophobic sourpuss.
