I posted this in reply to a news item - but I post it again here as I think its important that our reasons are clearly laid out as to why there is reasons to object the current scam. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Will I pay the water charge? No. * Not paying – for the simple reason we are paying already though a percentage of TAX and VAT we pay daily, being already being used for water services. * Not paying – for the simple reason we are paying (we were told during its sales pitch) for water services through the Household tax under “essential services”. * Not paying – for the simple reason under the European Competitions Treaty (article 82 and 86 alone) is illegal for any government or private company to oversee a revenue generating monopoly. (Any party/person that says it wants to stay within the law and then goes along with this profit operation - is then actually further enabling EU law to be broken and they a party to it. A very important point missed by many) * Not paying – for the simple reason we are being press-ganged into a company that has far too many crony and nepotism ties to political heads in this government and the previous one that has sold us out through the Troika, to heads of other countries in the EU. * Not paying – for the simple reason: How many damn times do we have to be charged for the same thing – again that we are ALREADY paying for! Anyone that goes along with this scam is either or a combination of: (a) in the dark as to how they are being utterly conned, (b) willing to be charged multiple times for the same thing, (c) a FG/FF/Labour/etc fan of the Irish Water company (d) been pressured into capitulation. Stand up for gods sake against this scam. After all – its only you and your kids for generations to come that are going to be ripped off. If anyone is silent, complainant and willing to let that happen, they are allowing our country and people to be taken once again advantage of. * Ireland got screwed over its oil resources. * Ireland got shafted over its gas resources, * It nearly got screwed over its forestry lands – the EU boys and girls will be back on that later. They have not given up on that one! * Ireland got screwed over its fishing rights. ...Now its getting screwed over its own water! Anyone see a natural resources rip-off trend that continues?
