I posted this somewhere else. I am now wondering the histories and stories from the past. I have found cousins in Alabama, Arizona, and some kind of bloodline in Oklahoma and Minnesota. I am now curious of bringing this together. Both sets of my grandparents are gone. My parents have passed and most of my aunts and uncles are up in age or very sick. My parents are Joseph Patrick Dirkes and Nancy Virginia Hemingway Dirkes. My maternal grandparents are Charles Hemingway and Sarah Marcella Butler. My grandma married a second time to Ambrose William Brown. My aunts and uncles are Samuel Edward Hemingway, Thomas Olivier Hemingway, and Nancy Virgina Dirkes is my mother. Carolyn Pearl Pfefferman/Cioffi, Peggy Sue Thomas, Edward Lee Brown, Paul William Brown, and Molly Ann Lay are my aunts and uncles. My paternal grandparents immigrated from Germany in the 20s. Ben Dirkes and Helen Bruns. Their first son passed at a very early age, or at birth, Ben. My paternal aunts and uncles are Mary Margaret Metzger, Nicholas Dirkes, Helen Evans, Earl Dirkes, Bernard Dirkes, Henry Dirkes, and George Dirkes. I know some of the great aunts and uncles and can only relate to them by the last name. My paternal grandma had a brother George Bruns. He lived in Crescent Springs, Ky. I also know that I have realatives, Stefanie Kerßens, in Borger, Germany. My maternal side is a bit more confusing. I know that AW Brown had family in Xenia, Oh. He had a younger brother Roy that was right on him. Charlie Hemingway brother and sister I had met. Floyd Hemingway, and Margaret Gillispie. I also knew of my moms cousins and the first set of twins I remember, Jack and Jackie Butler, and I think they lived near Winchester, Ky. There is also an aunt, Bernice Good near Winchester. My grandma also had a sister that lived in Newport. Georgia Somhorst. She had a daughter Pat Moser, that lived near Canton, Oh. A grandson Tony Somhorst, and the last I heard lived in Bell Garden, near Los Angeles. If anyone knows any of these names, I would love to find the connection. I am hoping to connect with the past and find the stories that make me, me.
