I posted this without writing anything b/c sometimes it just hurts. When you miss people you took for granted that they would always be around. This photo made me think of my cousin Lesleigh (who passed away 2 years ago next month). Why? Because I tend to see her everywhere. So many times Ive seen a stranger who has a smile like hers. I hear a voice in a crowd that has her timber and softness. I come across an old photo and see her sleepy eyes staring out into the world. And oddly, that is my proof that God and angels are real. Who else who make put those sights and sounds and memories so vivid in my reality? So, for those whose feel their ancestors, soul mates, and loved ones engulf them tightly when quiet moments descend, this photo is for you. This photo is for Grandmom, Uncle Al, Lesleigh, Pop-Pop, Nana, Granny Gran and all the Sinklers and Gadsons who God called home on time but for us, much too soon.
