I purchased the D7100, 80-400 mm and 24-70 mm lenses at the end of September. Primarily photograph birds and how exciting to shoot birds in flight...Im still working to find the best settings to keep the target in focus while panning a moving subject. Usually use shutter priority, AF-C with 21 focus points and try to keep the focus on the birds eye or head. I find this difficult when the subject is in the distance and moving. Here are a few recent shots of a Red-tailed Hawk. Any comments, suggestions about settings, focus, etc. to nail the best crisp shots.
