I ran into a girl I used to work with tonight. I hadnt seen her in over 4 yrs. Ive asked about her to my other ex-coworkers and no one ever could tell me where she was now, just that she doesnt work there anymore. We live in the same small town, so I found it odd I hadnt run into her. She told me shes sick, and on disability now. Shes terminal. After our conversation, I got in my car and just cried out to God! How is it, you can work with people and spend time with them day after day, and not have any feelings for them? How is it they just dont mean anything to you? I guess Im a strange person, because I am always thinking about others and wondering how they are. Maybe God puts that on my heart for a reason, because he knows I will pray for others. I often wonder who really cares about me. Lately Ive thought that a lot. I have about 450 Facebook friends, and only a very small number of them ever like or comment on my posts. That makes me think theyve got my posts blocked or they just ignore them. God knows my heart and for some reason, he needs me to care about all this! Maybe just maybe, reading this will make some of you wonder if you care enough about the people in your lives, whether they are your family, friends, neighbors or co-workers. Heck, I even care that they guy and his wife at the local donut shop had a baby! I got to know him before they met and was genuinely happy he found someone. What does it hurt to actually get to know people that are merely serving you or working beside you?
