I rarely get excited. I try to stay in the middle; however, I opened the data and ran all the statistics three times. I just realized that I hit all my goals. 98% of my children doubled their initial scores, 99% increased their scores, and 100% showed drastic improvement in phonics, word recognition, and comprehension. Over time they have all progressed over four tests consistently to a 1.5 year growth in less than 4 months. A baseline and comparative graphs show that stats are consistent. I feel awesome!!! Principal happy. Scholars happy. Parents happy. Most of all a few parents sending me thank-you letters and asking me to tutor during the summer. I am ecstatic about the responsibility of taking the lowest scholars and giving them the tools to read and achieve. Even the thug is reading poetry and having intelligent conversation about Hamlet now. Told me yesterday, Aye T. Moore Hamlet its alright. I almost cried.
