I read a biography on Thomas Jefferson a few years back and I - TopicsExpress

I read a biography on Thomas Jefferson a few years back and I learned that he had a structure educational plan his whole life. Each day was divided up into periods of learning/reading different areas of information to increase his knowledge, as well as different physical activities the help his body. Since that time Ive thought about doing something similar. If it was found to be important by the man who wrote our Declaration of Independence, it probably has importance. Well, I finally am making a effort to do this, Im just not going to be as rigorous. Ive set up a reading plan including areas of interest that look like this: Bible, Cheistian ideas/theology, history, science, literature, biographies, philosophy, philosophy and pop culture, and poetry. Im finding enjoyment in this and finding that Im not playing as May video games, watching as much TV (which I dont do much of anyway), and not mindlessly going to the internet. I would like to challenge anyone who reads this to think about doing the same, its fun and worth your time. Here is my current reading list. Its spread out over the week. (Im not bragging listing this, just trying to give examples on what Im reading if anyone is interested in following suite and looking for ideas): ESV Bible Christian Theology by Millard Erickson Daily Bible Study Letters of John and Jude by William Barclay Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell Works of Love by Soren Kierkegaard A Basic History of the United States, vol 2 by Clarence Carson Soren Kierkegaard, a Biography by Joakim Garff Follow Me by David Platt Batman and Philosophy multiple authors Chemistry for Dummies by John T Moore Robert Frost Pocket Poetry Ralph Waldo Emerson Pocket Poetry
