I read a lot and see graphic pictures and videos every day from advocate sites regarding people of other countries skinning live dogs and cats. This is so their fur and leather can be used for gloves or as trim on sweaters, jackets, purses and shoes that we here in the U.S. and other countries wear. Until recently I did not know about this. Nor did I know just how common place the use of dog and cat meat is at festivals and as a part of a regular diet. The living conditions and treatment of these animals is nothing short of heinous and prolonged torture and we are not much better here in the U.S. with our factory farming or with our using dog and cat products (as discussed above) that is so horrifically obtained. The existence of these animals is a hellish nightmare - except that for them they are awake – it’s real. Since it was news to me I thought there may be others who are not aware and since this is one of the less graphic links I am sharing it. Even if you do not look at the picture -please consider reading the information below in the comments box. Once we know about such atrocities we are in a position to make a positive difference. We can do this because we possess critical information that can influence our purchasing decisions. If we do not buy the products those selling them may move on to other revenue producing ventures. Really, it does not matter what country we are from or if it is dogs and cats or pigs, chickens, sheep and cows – meat is meat - leather is leather and fur is fur and all of these are huge money making industries. That will not change unless we allow ourselves to be aware and start making different purchasing decisions.
