I read a story once about a man feeling the call of God to go to Africa to do missionary work! He had a wife and a new baby. He felt the call so strong. He had pastored a church and didnt get enough money to live on. His little family struggled so much and his desire to go off to missionary work was so strong it wouldnt leave him. His small child became very ill and he prayed and prayed for healing and but healing didnt come. He was rushing the child to the hospital and his car broke down. He noticed how many people passed him by and also noticed some had even went to church with him at some point. He just could not understand. He sat there craddling that young precious child in his arms and still prayed for help and healing. As he and his wife sat there, sick child in arms and wondering where God was and why their prayers seemed not to be heard, they felt the child getting weaker and weaker in its breathing and finally in a moment of time their precious little infant had slipped away and had entered the arms of Jesus! Oh how bad this hurt, and how their hearts were just broken and they wondered why God had not answered their prayer for healing. Soon the funeral was over and time was passing, days became weeks and weeks became months, and they could still feel their hearts longing to go to Africa. They decided to pursue this call. They found an open door to go and found that this office would only accept singles or couples who had no children. Somehow they begin to maybe understand why the child was not healed. God had called them to a great harvest and they just had to trust that he had a plan that they could not understand but in all of it , they simply had to keep trusting. They got their plane tickets and set out for Africa. They arrived into the greatest harvest field that they had seen ever. Many souls came to God through them. Many sons and daughters were born into the Kingdom of God through their missionary work. They also adopted many children to raise them as their own. One of their adopted African children went on to become a doctor and set up a hospital there and they saw a great medical ministry also. It became more clear as to why that little precious child had not lived. None of this would have happened if they had raised their child. Their lives would have went a totally different direction and many souls would have been lost. I read this story years ago and somehow understood a little more clearly why some things happen that we dont understand and it made me trust God a little more when things dont turn out the way I would choose. If you have went through something or are going through something you just dont understand, just please keep trusting God. Soon you will see it plainly but now just continue to trust and walk in faith for God has the perfect plan that will soon be revealed when we come before his throne on that great day. NN
