I read somewhere that people who are dieting can have issues dropping weight because of something very interesting. Their attitude toward themselves when they slip up. I read an article that if you feel guilty that you are more likely to store that cheat meal as fat. If you eat that cheat with 100% confidence that you have no guilt over eating it, it is metabolized normally. Interesting take. Accurate? I dont know. What makes this interesting is the fact that your attitude could make a difference. Mediate on that a moment. I think that if I can have a cheat....like on Valentines Day. ...I should feel 100% good about it. Right? My love gave me a gift. Its decadent chocolate. I have a positive emotional connection with this particular cheat treat. I bet, if the hypothesis that attitude plays a role, my body would put that chocolate to good use. Id be happy and satisfied. No guilt whatsoever. Now if I were to buy that box of chocolates and hork em all down in my car secretly do you think that would be a positive food experience? No way! Id feel so guilty that Id probably think about it all day. Id probably feel extra bad of I got home after this and the hubby gave me a surprise box of chocolates! I probably would want to just kick myself in the pants! Lesson learned: make every food experience positive so that you dont have to think about whether this hypothesis is true. If you make every food experience special then you are more likely to take your time and savor every bite. Youll be full before you know it. Content and guilt free! Give it a try!
