I read these comments from an English voter today........ With respect you can write a response of 50, 500 or 50,000 words to back up your argument regarding a CU. However, it comes down to one fundamental point which is this: Will the people in the rest of the UK (Im one of them incidentally) agree to underwrite the banking sector and debts of somewhere thats effectively told us were not good enough to share a Union with. Especially if, were the tables to be turned by some quirk of misfortune, Scotland would not be able to do the same for us?? The answer to that question is a very firm NO! Now you can wax lyrical all night about trade flows (on which the Scottish economy is far more reliant) between us; you can pontificate on about the government being uncomfortable with Sterling being used outside the control of the BoE. Nevertheless, the rest of us will electorally crucify any political party that effectively puts the interests of a secessionist Scotland ahead of the 58 million of us youve told to f**k off!. For thats exactly how it will be seen if a YES vote prevails. Weve had to listen to Scottish nationalists and their followers bleating on for three years whilst weve been impotently sitting on the sidelines with a mixture of apathy and frustration. That will all come to an end on September 19th if Salmond wins this. It will then be OUR turn to have a say - and 5 million people are no longer going to dictate the constitutional or economic agenda to those who outnumber them 12-to-1. Now... choose to separate and then get on with it. ..... .. on your own.
