I read this today though it would be nice to share...Everyone is dealt hardships in life. Depression is a disease of the mind and therefore very difficult to conquer. Researchers have found that by helping others, the mind reverses the symptoms of depression. A few years ago, I was watching the news after a major earthquake hit Turkey. A journalist was standing in the middle of the rubble, describing the scene as a man covered with dust and holding the hands of two little children walked by. The journalist stopped him, and proceeded to ask through an interpreter, what had just happened to him. He replied that his house was destroyed and that he had lost his wife and children. But who are those children then, that you are holding by the hand? They also lost their mother and father, so they are now my children, was the man reply. Needless to say, I was moved to tears as was the journalist. I was taught a life lesson that day, from thousand of miles away, that I never forgot.
