I read three FB stories this morning that have left me very disturbed. First was posted by Maria Butt, a video of Pakistani bureaucrats showering money and acting like animals towards a barely clothed girl dancing at a party (mujra). These are the leaders who run the country. Second was posted by Docteur Lou, a video of immigration patrol policeman training their dogs on detained African immigrants. The dogs chased and attacked the helpless men in an open field as the police watched.The third news story was just posted by Matthew Dalzell on yesterdays high school stabbing in PA by a 16 year old who seriously injured 25 school mates. I am aghast at the cruelty we humans are capable of. I am also cognizant of how vulnerable a human is. There is so much to be done across the world to help the weak and question those in power. The work of humanists must continue. We are all humanists first and foremost.
