I read today that had the minimum wage increases over the years matched the productivity increases, the wage would be right at $23 an hour. If I recall my history lessons from school, we were told that American ingenuity and the American worker had raised our standard of living to be the envy of the world. American labor enjoyed a high standard of living because of our productivity and work ethic. I think somewhere along the way we have been screwed. Today it was announced that a record number of American families ar enow on food stamps. Over 23,000,000 families! The number 23 again.
