I read with interest Kevin Rudds claim that he is going to make it "easier" for small business! Well he has had 6 years to that and after promising so much he has delivered so little. On Thursday he promised that small business would not have the burden of administering his paid parental scheme.... the same legislation Labor voted down in both 2011 & 2012. In 2007 Labor promised to introduce "BAS Easy" if elected, but dumped the policy in 2009. In 2008 Labor promised to introduce "unfair contract" provisions for small business, only to dump it in 2009. In 6 years Labor have introduced or amended 21,000 regulations and tied small business in a web of red and green tape. Only the Liberal Coalition has a front bench small business minister with a committment to eradicate one billion dollars of red tape from the Australian economy every year.
