I really appreciate the initiative of your message however, I have certain notes concerning the ideas you presented. First of all, the point of this challenge is to experience how ALS patients feel for a few seconds by throwing a bucket full of ice water on yourself and accordingly, donate. So there IS a point. Secondly, you can’t actually distribute glasses of water for children anywhere in the world. Thirdly, those who did this challenge in the Middle East used tap water, so it isn’t drinkable water so 50 children around the world couldn’t have drank those 50 cups of water instead. 68% of the Iraqi population do not have access to CLEAN DRINKING WATER, whoever did this challenge in the Middle East didn’t use clean drinking water. So it IS worth it if people are donating and not just doing it for fun. Although, I agree with you on the fact that this is a waste of water especially in the United States, Europe or any other place where tap water is drinkable, but this challenge actually worked! “The ALS Association has received a record $94.3 million (£57 million) in donations since 29 July.” So despite all those who didn’t donate after doing the challenge, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which was a different way of raising awareness raised a lot of money and awareness. Just because most of those who are doing this challenge in Jordan aren’t doing it the right way or donating doesnt mean it isnt effective.
