I really dont know why people are having a go at the Europa League - TopicsExpress

I really dont know why people are having a go at the Europa League and Liverpools participation in it. There are a lot of good teams in the competition and all of them would be delighted to win it. If Fifa decided to abolish it and extend the qualification for the Champions League to 5 teams in any Premier League, people would be complaining that the competition is too big and Fifa would probably have to extend the game fixtures to 3 nights a week. The Europa League has been around a long time in some form or other and is an important part of European Football. Without it there would be a hell of a lot of teams not participating in any European competition. The matter of Liverpool playing on Thursdays and Sundays shouldnt be an issue. Its really no different from teams playing Wednesdays and Saturdays and if anyone looks back on last season when Liverpool werent even playing in European competition, they played more games on Sunday than anyone else in the Premier League. The fact that Liverpool are now in the Europe League instead of the Champions League isnt as upsetting when you take everything into account. Their chances of winning the Europa League are a whole lot better than they were of winning the Champions League and the present Liverpool team are not good enough to beat the better teams of Europe that remain in the elite competition. Some people might differ and argue but the stats, the players, the money and everything else says no way. It would be unfair to even expect it from a team of novice players in Europe bar a few. The best thing Liverpool fans can do is embrace every competition Liverpool are taking part in and scrap that thought where Mickey Mouse owns certain cups and titles because if there was a Walt Disney Cup and Liverpool were taking part in it, they would still try to win it. The Europa League is the learning curve to its bigger brother and right now Liverpool need to be in it to carry on doing what they are doing as they learn and embrace the changes that are going on under Brendan Rodgers. #fran #lfc
