I really feel Parliament and all institutions that use the Bible when people take an oath must withdraw it and replace it with The Constitution of Botswana. First and foremost Botswana is not Christian Republic, yes we allow Christians to freely worship just like we do for the rest of other believers. Secondly I find it grossly inappropriate for someone to take an oath using the Bible and immediately make submissions or proposals that go against the prescriptions of the Holy Book. Or just speaks blatant lies. Equivalent to using the name of God in vain. Lastly we have all agreed to defend the constitution as by Law established, and to abide by the law of Botswana. We are also judged or prosecuted by the same laws and nothing more, nowhere have we ever committed to defend the Bible and statues of God as written or Laws of God as commanded in the Bible. To preserve the integrity of the Bible, we must petition Government to withdraw the Bible from those tables.
