I really like the gracious, compassionate way Cera Byer wrote this article. She helps us approach the obvious racial tension in our culture with a lot of respect. I like the main message here so much: listen and learn and prioritize other over self (which is the simplest and hardest part of my entire faith). I think the conversations weve been having here on this page and everywhere this last week are SO GOOD. I am not discouraged; I am encouraged. I appreciate the questions and struggles and comments on our racial divide, because saying something is better than saying nothing. It is so good to lean into the uncomfortable, difficult, misunderstood stuff and risk being maligned. It is still good and right. If the emotional temperature of our country has told us anything lately, it is that we are in need of peacemakers and good neighbors.
