I really need some help about my 12 y.o./5th grade Math. I barely passed my own Math classes and long division gave me anxiety attacks.....this went on from grade school till graduation and Im no better at it now. Nathaniel is doing new math which he doesnt and really understand and really struggles with when its time to do homework to the point of tears and extreme frustration. Ive tried to get ahead of his lessons before he has to do them but Id have a better chance learning how to speak Swahili! Ive addressed this issue with his Math teacher by notes & emails with very little replies from him. We have a math tutor which is $25 for 1 hour & we cant afford additional lessons. Jons a math genius when hes home and can help but hes working out of town 3 weeks a month. I know Im not the only parent in this situation trying to help their kids. So what am I supposed to do short of allow him to fail math? What do you do? I really need some guidance and thank you for your help
