I really needed to shy away from controversy just on this day so that i may enjoy it but the temptation to air my view is just too much... While it may seem the only good thing to do will be to congratulate Mr Leseja Kganyago on his appointment as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank, i am worried about the continuation of liberal economic policies which may prove detrimental to our objectives of radical social and economic transformation and our march towards realizing the goals of the NDP... while he has earned his mantles in macro-economic policy through the many years of sheer dedication, which should not be taken away from him, Mr Kganyago comes in as an expert in the very macro-economic policy direction which has seen the gap between the rich and the poor growing wider, rates of unemployment resisting reduction and the economy continuing to be systematically racialized along that apartheid model.... i doubt if radical transformation will be achieved for at the heart of that should be deliberate financing of the transformation agenda and our micro-economic policy direction is crucial in this regard... I congratulate with mixed feelings on this one
