I really want to let go the Child Marriage Issue, but pontification is disabling me. I think Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs headed by His Eminence Sultan of Sokoto Abubarkr, Council of Ulama (North) and all stake holders need to converge for a brainstorming session to open the door of Ijitihad on this Child Marriage. It does not form the Usool, hence we are free to legislate for public good in the face of surfacing marital abuses, educational dis-empowerment, high rate of divorces.
