I recall the first time I heard the saying No good deed goes - TopicsExpress

I recall the first time I heard the saying No good deed goes unpunished. It was 1996 when these words were uttered in my presence by the Executive Director of the small federal agency where I worked. I remember thinking What a horrible sentiment! Never could I have imagined then that choices I made to sacrifice my career path and relationships so my only child could follow her own dreams and aspirations would painfully demonstrate the truth of that statement. Unfortunately, the sting resulting from my well-intended decisions continue even to this day, sometimes in a very public way. I bring this up as I wrestle with how to react to the latest such occurence that happened less than 24 hours ago. I know that I cannot change the unanticipated outcomes that continue to adversely affect my life and finances nor can I control the public statements of another who has chosen to speak partial truths, basically revising history - all as a means to an end. All I can do now is to greet each new day as a gift and move forward, continuing to #PracticeGoodDeeds that I hope will be valued and appreciated. And while I am very proud of my daughters accomplishments, I am #EnormouslyDisappointed with her modus operandi. As she receives increasing recognition for her latest endeavor, it is likely that the partial truths disparaging my character will continue both privately and publicly. This is all I care to say on this matter at this time and perhaps forever. Thanks to all for reading. Please know that I absolutely appreciate and am #EternallyGrateful now and forever for all the #SupportivePeople in my life!
