I received a call last night from a friend while I was preparing my Thanksgiving dinner. She asked if I knew where someone could go for a meal today...I told her about another friend that was hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless. My friend learned of this mans situation by talking to the manager at Chuck E Cheese, where he recently started working. I thought about it for a moment... and realized I cooked Thanksgiving dinner simply because I love to cook for the holidays...no one was coming to my house to visit, and I have two dinner invitations... so I told her that I would take him a plate for dinner. And I did just that, I fixed him the biggest plate ever, dessert included, I was supposed to meet him outside of a McDonalds between 3-3:30 but I didnt get there until 10 minutes to 4. He was still there... and to see the look on his face when I asked if he was waiting for Thanksgiving Dinner was priceless. He was so appreciative to receive a warm meal, served on a real plate, complete with utensils. He asked if he had to give the plate back...I told him that he could have the plate, and he smiled. He said Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving...I gave him a hug and he walked away! Without us even knowing each others names.
