I received an email from a young kid who is being abused by his father - physically, mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. This is the mother of all abuses; the complete set. Since I cant help him that much through email, I kindly asked him to seek help from a professional. I asked him to report it to the authorities but he is afraid to do so. Thats unfortunate, but I didnt stop there. I went for the second best thing in this case: a counselor. Perhaps a counselor could help him. He said he knows a counselor in his school. Great, so I asked him to seek the counselors help. He said he already did that. The counselors response? Just accept it. What?! Okay, I know I shouldnt judge because I only hear one side of the story from that young kid. But, IF it is true, then I think that counselor should be fired. No human being should just accept abuse. Seriously.
