I recently commented at one of my friend’s posts, on my opinion about the Modi Supporters. Here are some corrections to that comment ☺ **Disclaimer** This is just a personal opinion; I do not intend to hurt the sentiments of anybody out there. There are three types of Modi supporter 1) The first type are the one which are BJP supporters before Modi came into the picture, due to their inclination towards Hinduism or some sort of associations with the Hindu groups, or the dogmatic values being passed on to from their elders or childhood heroes. Some of these people actually supported AAP until they realized that AAP is now a threat to BJP itself, and they distanced themselves with AAP on some petty excuse and started bad mouthing AAP. 2) Then there is the second type of people, who have some genuine support for Modi (Thanks to the marketing propaganda of the Modi PR machinery, the biggest in Indian history). The additional supporting logic to justify is the belief that the only possibility of a stable/strong govt. in 2014 is BJP getting maximum seats to avoid lot of coalition parties, given the fact congress is doomed anyway. 3) Then there is the third type, which I didn’t realize until recently. These are mostly the deep thinkers and self-righteous wordsmiths, which either completely ignored AAP when it started or written them off for delhi election assuming they aren’t going to get more than 5 seats in Delhi (if any) and will diminish with that. Now they are supporting Modi or criticizing AAP to fulfill their ego of “how can they be wrong” Now here is my take on Modi for the coming election, lets assume that AAP is not in the picture and try to forecast how the Modi govt may shape up… BJP for sure will not get a single party majority; the biggest reason is that BJP is only contesting probably around 325 seats in the general assembly. The strong hindu extremist image of Modi will also cost BJP some seats. So even if giving them benefit of doubt, they will probably form the govt with support of 20 other parties (NDA++). So in this scenario, I cant imagine how would Modi be different from what MMS has been in last 10 years. Yes he will definitely speak more than MMS, but that’s about it. The fact is the rest of the MP’s and party is still the same we have seen ruling the states of India for last 30 years (whenever they got chance). It’s the same corrupt people and same old bad governance. Even in Gujarat, the many of the BJP MLA are convicted on corruption charges, what can Modi do about it. Well I guess nothing, as he himself uses so many unknown funds on building his PR. One thing for sure, BJP may still make the govt when AAP is around, but its going to be a really tough one for them. As a AAP supporter, I know AAP will need much more time than two election to change the nation. It’s a long battle, but nevertheless challenging the corrupt system is the motto here.
