I recently encountered a prominent Objectivist who shall not be - TopicsExpress

I recently encountered a prominent Objectivist who shall not be named who, when I mentioned my admiration of Nathaniel Branden responded, I dont think he had anything of value to offer after his betrayal of Ayn Rand. This shocks me because the man is supposed to be an Objectivist, yet his emotional impulses are clearly clouding his judgement. Brandens decades of research in the field of clinical psychology and self-esteem are not invalidated simply because he broke up with the the apparent Goddess of Reason. For real, Nothing of value after he parted ways with her. Thats like me saying, My ex has nothing of value to give the world now that we arent together anymore. Of course thats false. All of Brandens research enforces objectivism, as well as his essays that are published with Ayn Rands work. I even say that Branden is a model objectivist, whether he acknowledges it or not. Hes kind, understanding and convincing while selling a creed thats often brute, standoffish and douchebaggy. I wish I could make it clear to people that Ayn Rand worship is separate form objectivism. I love the woman and her philosophy, but some of her followers are simply too much to deal with.
