I recently visited Rumba Lattina in The Cave and we chose a variety of tapas. Now it is a mixed Latin American place and I dont know whether they serve tapas in South American countries - but I do know that in Spain they do (of course!) and in Mexico they dont. I found fault with almost everything I ate as everything is spiced up or things are added in that makes it a mix, never the real, authentic thing. That may be to some peoples liking but not mine. I want to taste good ingredients cooked they way they should be. The tortilla espanola (Spanish omelette) was topped with cheese and had spices in it- not what I am used to at all! The nachos were absolutely covered in thick jalapeno slices - too much even for my friend, who likes spicy food. The tortillas are flour, as they always are here but NEVER in Mexico, and so tacos are not what they should be. I know it is very difficult to get the real thing here - but I would think the flour to make them is available- and the taste of the real thing is incredible. Flour tortillas have their place but not for tacos. The confit of lamb was the best. Having said all this, I am willing to go back and try some other stuff, especially the dessert Pastel de Tres Leches (Three Milks cake). I have eaten a fair few in my time and I know what I like... will review again then.
