I recorded this song at my home studio with Audacity, a free, open source software for recording and editing sounds on my 160GB, 3.2 GHZ Pentium IV HP computer made back in 2004. I did upgrade the memory to 2GB. Only 512 MB of memory originally came with the computer. This song was performed on basic equipment, from a first act guitar for leads, a Fender Deluxe Stratocaster for rhythm played through a Crate 120 Watt solid state amp, a small Peavey 50 watt bass amp, a Cameo bass guitar, a first act drum set, and a $10 computer microphone, all while capturing the sounds as I perform them live without a real time compressor or mixer, making it quite the challenge to balance the entire sound. This was my 4th attempt at songwriting. I think this was written back in 1986. Out of the first 20 songs I cranked out in one year, my father liked this one the best since it reminded him of the oldies from the 50s that he liked so well. I was inspired by Johnny Otis of Willie and The Hand Jive fame and Bo Diddley. Its doing a few different things in there to keep myself interested in the tune. The words still ring true for me today, since I still love rock and roll. KEEP A-ROCKIN’ A LITTLE MORE WHEN ALL THIS GOES BY, ROCK AND ROLL WILL NEVER DIE. I’VE BEEN THROUGH IT ALL BEFORE, GOIN’ TO HER HOUSE AND KNOCK ON HER DOOR. WE’VE GOTTA ROCK. THIS CANNOT STOP. KEEP A-ROCKIN’ A LITTLE MORE. MY MEMORIES ARE ALL IN THE PAST. MY GIRL WAS GONE BUT SHE’S HERE AT LAST. LOVIN’ HER ALL NIGHT LONG! SINGIN’ HER THE SAME OLE SONGS! I SAID NO, WE GOTTA GO. KEEP A-ROCKIN’ A LITTLE MORE. (SOLO) NOW IT’S TIME FOR ME TO SAY, ROCK-N-ROLL WILL ALWAYS STAY FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU. ROCK AND ROLL WILL ALWAYS DO. I SAY YES WHEN THEY SAY NO. KEEP A-ROCKIN’ A LITTLE MORE.
