I refered to Thomas Fuchs in my thoughts on neuroleptics and embodied neuroplasticity (see my Stastny post, 16th Sept.) Professor Fuchs is a Philosopher and Psychiatrist at Uni Heidelberg. Over the last decade he has made important contributions to articulate and nuance an ecological, embodied and enacted understanding of peoples embodied minds with feelings, acts, thoughts, perceptions as they are inter- and intra-enacted in real relationships. Fuchs also studies processes of disconnects in reciprocal lived and psychological embodiment as bringing about unusual orientations of awareness and mentalisation in mental illness. It is conclusive, from the former, that mental illness can no longer be regarded as a heuristically correct framework nor valid terminology.
