I refuse to join the hypocrisy of praising the Late Otieno - TopicsExpress

I refuse to join the hypocrisy of praising the Late Otieno Kajwang´. Instead, I would urge all Kenyans with eyes that see, ears that hear, and minds that understand to learn this from Kajwang´- CORRUPTION DOES NOT PAY. Simple and clear. Whether you are in Jubilee, whether you are in Cord, whether you are in Amani or any other outfit- the lesson is universal. Right from the time I entered the Newsroom in the Weekly Review, in the late nineties I landed in the Business Desk, and my main task was to follow up stories of Economic Crimes. From my observation of the main characters that have been involved in grand Corruption- I can confidently declare that CORRUPTION DOES NOT PAY. I was among the very first Journalists to interview the converted Kamlesh Paul Pattni, since he got baptised in the Church that I was attending at that time. Paul Pattni kept repeating the phrase- There is no joy in these monies you get kwa njia baya. I have followed the life of guys like Jirongo, Kimunya and other untouchables of yesteryears elite, and see a simple rule: The CID may spare you, the Anti Corruption chiefs may be bought by your ill gotten wealth, but there is a God up there. Even in Corporates, the same rule applies. Between 2003 and 2005 I was known in the Newsroom as the Econet Man, since I passionately followed the award of the Third Mobile License to Econet Wireless. The process was far from transparent. I am not surprised to see Yu Mobile collapsing. The foundation was simply not right. Let those enjoying power right now take a careful look at Kajwang´ and learn. Power is sweet, but short. Before you know it, things can change, before you know it, your sworn enemy could be in power- against all expectations, and just like in Kajwangs´ and Kimunya´s cases, the CID will prepare to haul you before court. If you hold public office- please run away from abuse of office, follow the law to the letter. You never know what will come tomorrow... you never know. The shock of being hauled before Court may simply give you a heart attack.
