I regret the fall of the Soto Koto Tree at b22, Hagan Street in Banjul. Te Tree that was planted by Mam Kumba Jasseh 100 years ago has laid to been rest by strong natural wind. I oko Drammeh son of Arret Mboge and Pa Kebba Drammeh was born under this Soto tree and I took the name as my company and the name of my foundation to preserve African history, culture and music in its purity. The tree fell down in Banjul in a big storm on this day the 27th of August 2014. This tree is the shadow of Banjul, almost ALL Banjul Ndongos grew up under this tree as it w\s the shadow of Banjul The Soto Koto Vous ( Pindo Drammeh, Saja Kah, Basiru Nyang, Alasan Ceesay, Pa Alieu Lette, Segite Gai, John Njie, Abdou Jallow, Kakai Sanyang Salieu Foon, etc and the Big brothers The Hyde Park Vous of the late Greats: Dr. Peter Ndow, Hatib Janneh, Matarr Sarr, Dr. Lamin Mbye, Sol, Tamsir Jagne, Samba, Abou Denton, Nurainu Carew, Babou Mbaye, Alieu Kah, Pengu George, Fisco, Koto Sankare, Tapha Kah etc, eand a stone throw from the house of veteran politician I.M Garba Jahumpa, M. E Jallow Jallow Workers union, Late Great Educationist Henry Man Joof. Banjul have lost a standing Post. The Soto Koto Tree and her shadow has been taken by God and not by a Store, a boutique or a factory. It lived and died by nature. A true ACT of God. Rest in eternal Peace and may God Grant you Heaven. Standing as a tree in the soft winds of Paradise waving your holy breath to the Wilful of God. May your Soul rest in Peace the Soto Koto. Your name has travelled to Asia, Europe, South America, The USA and you have won your place in Hollywood as a product at the Worlds music capital and your name took African Music to the WORLD. Watch sotokoto.tv your 24 hours 7 days a TV channel online. THE SOTO KOTO BAND TOOK ITS NAME AFTER THIS SOTO KOTO TREE. R.I.P. okodrammeh
