I (regretably) watched an RTE program on the life of Tony O Reilly - TopicsExpress

I (regretably) watched an RTE program on the life of Tony O Reilly the other night and found it shameless and gloating. I hate RTE with a passion that surpasses the filthy spectrum of Irish Cathiolicism, which is saying something, but the fact that a national broadcaster can use its platform to sanctimoniously mourn the downfall a mans life in the guise of public interest is vile uselessness, nay, abuse, on a new scale. Dont get me wrong, - for those of us who scurry about the desert floor like lemmings while the likes of Tony circles vampirishly overhead, a predator and an eagle, his presence is not always so benign nor welcome. BUT, I once came across a dead condor on an isolated plain and tho its wing span was three times my height and its razor beek bigger than my foot, there was a moment of - let us say - silent respect. TOR did more to build an Ireland in which IRA apologism was NOT an option than any person I know. He intelligently applied his secular genius to begin a path of intellectual freedom in which being Irish did not mean servile availability to priests cocks or British snobbery - at the price of ones culture (the universe of Gay Byrnery). He loved Ireland and he loved art - (OK I hate the fact that he showcase Monet on his mantelpiece) (Monet was a donkey anyway) - but goddamn it - OReilly gave his lifes fortune to a company that stood as testimony to Irish craftmanship when the government scoffed. He lost everything. That is not entertainment - that is herosim. RTE you are bigger wankers than Monet and most certainly more pernicious than the the Irish church. Ones opprobrium needs no further justification.
